Abandoned Cart Emails for Dropshipping: My 1 Min, 20 Min, 1 Hour Flow
Last updated: Oct 18, 2026
Short answer: at the time of the video, I used exactly one email automation in my dropshipping stores: abandoned checkout recovery (07:02). The first email goes out one minute after the customer leaves the cart (07:46). If they don't buy, they get a 10% code after 20 minutes (08:56, 09:02). After an hour they get another email with 15% (09:21, 09:23), then 20% and 25% (16:29, 16:32). The whole setup is free (10:01), and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to build (09:37). You don't need an agency for it (02:27). I walk through it step by step in the video „Jak zarobiłem 200 000 zł w 20 minut pracy w dropshipping krok po kroku”.
I don't break down the 200,000 zł from the video title in the recording, and I don't calculate how much of it came from the emails. This is not a promise of results. Outcomes depend on product, budget, execution, market and experience.

What does my abandoned cart email flow look like?
My flow is delay, email, delay, email, and every email offers a bigger discount than the one before. This was the structure at the time of the video:
| Step | When | What the customer gets | Code |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | one minute after leaving the cart (07:46) | a reminder with their first name and a link back to the cart | none |
| 2 | 20 minutes later (08:56, 15:00) | 10% off (09:02) | SAVE10 (15:16) |
| 3 | an hour later (09:21, 15:28) | 15% off (09:23, 15:31) | STYLE15 (15:35) |
| 4 | later | 20% off (16:29) | TREND20 (15:47) |
| 5 | later | 25% off (16:32) | I don't show it in the video |
This is the only flow I use (07:12). The app lets you build a lot more automations (07:06). I don't bother with them.
The customer didn't buy, so they get a new offer, then a better one (15:53). They were that close to buying, so you push them over the line (16:00).
Why does the first email go out after one minute?
The first email goes out after one minute because people who left a cart are warm (08:14, 08:27). They came from Facebook or Instagram to your store, added a product to the cart and didn't buy (08:29-08:34). I don't know why they didn't buy, but they didn't (08:37).
The trigger is specific: as soon as the customer types in their email, a message goes out to them a minute later (08:44). In dropshipping you simply have to spam these people (08:22).
The first email has no discount yet. It has the customer's name in the subject line and a link that takes them back to the cart with everything they left in it (14:31-14:44). If I got this email, the subject would end with "Dawid" (12:27).
How do I build the first email in the app, step by step?
You build the first email in a few clicks: subject, body, customer name, link and button. This is how I do it in the app I call Notifio in the video (06:50):
- Add an email and write the subject line (10:40-10:43).
- Paste the email body from the document (10:56-11:03).
- Insert the customer's first name. At the very top, under shortcodes, there's a customer name field. Copy it and paste it into the body (11:15-11:21). The customer's name then shows up in the email (11:25-11:28).
- Enter your own name (11:30).
- For the button link, use the cart link so the customer lands back in their cart (11:40-11:46).
- Button label: "shop now" (11:51) or, for example, "buy now" (11:54). Write it in your store's language. A store for Poland gets Polish (12:01-12:02).
- Click save and move to the next step (12:05-12:08).
Every email sits behind a delay (12:16-12:19). In one email I also added a direct checkout link, on a black button labelled "checkout" (14:46-14:57).
The whole setup is quick: 15-20 minutes and you have the same thing ready (10:04-10:06).
How do I write the email copy with ChatGPT?
You write the copy with ChatGPT: tell it what kind of store you run and its name, and ask for an email for your brand. All the texts in my flow were written with ChatGPT (13:02).
In the video I do it on an example. I say I have a fashion store (13:48), named, let's say, "Kasia Warszawa" (13:58-14:01), and ask for an email for my brand (14:07-14:10). Then I copy the result and paste it into the email body in the app (14:19-14:27).
If you run a different kind of store, adjust the style to it (13:38-13:43). My document was written for a shapewear brand I had (10:24). That's why you rewrite the texts for your own brand (10:29-10:35, 17:11-17:14). Copied one-to-one, they make no sense in another store (17:19-17:23).
How do I set up discount codes for the emails in Shopify?
You add the discount code in Shopify and name it in the email. Example from my flow: in Shopify you add the code SAVE10, which gives 10% to whoever uses it (15:19-15:26). That code goes into the second email (15:12-15:16).
The rest works the same way. After an hour I offer 15% with the code STYLE15 (15:28-15:35), and the next email carries TREND20 (15:47). I don't click through the exact Shopify admin path in the video.
Do you need an agency for dropshipping email marketing?
No. There are agencies that do email marketing, but you don't really need one. You can do it yourself (02:25-02:29). You don't have to pour money into a marketing agency (04:27-04:30).
I used an agency myself and switched to this approach (02:32-02:35). Since then, things have gone very similarly for me (02:37). I don't compare what the agency cost in the video.
What store results do I show in the video?
I show three stores in the video. One did £130,000 in the last 30 days (05:55). The second did €112,000 (06:02); I don't give the period for it. The third I show for one week only: 20,000 in the last week (06:19), no currency given.
That third store is not a success story. At the time of the video the whole account was on hold, the store wasn't paying me anything anymore (06:09-06:14), and Shopify got it (06:23). I say the store will probably die (06:17). That's dropshipping (06:26).
How much of these numbers came from the emails alone, I don't calculate in the video.
This is not a promise of results. Outcomes depend on product, budget, execution, market and experience.
When does an aggressive email flow like this not make sense?
For a real brand, spamming people with this many emails isn't great (16:05-16:13). This flow is built for dropshipping. In dropshipping you want to make money as fast as possible (16:18-16:21), so you send 10%, then 15%, 20% and 25% to get the sale (16:27-16:34).
My take: there's no bad sale. The customer might return something, but you want as many sales as possible (16:37-16:43).
If you're building a brand rather than a fast store, I cover the difference in dropshipping vs branded dropshipping. If you're just starting, the plan is in how to start dropshipping.
Where can I get the ready-made flow template?
I put the document with the whole template on Discord (10:14-10:21, 16:58-17:05). You can copy it without a problem, just rewrite it for your own brand (17:08-17:14). Join the free Discord here.
My full dropshipping course is free on my YouTube channel (03:36-03:38). Leave questions in the comments or message me on Instagram. I answer every message (04:56-04:58, 18:19-18:21).
