Inventory Adjustment — Corrections After a Cycle Count
### oneLiner
Applies quantity corrections to specific SKUs and locations — after a stock count, a delayed 3PL return batch, or a discrepancy found in the multi-location audit.
### whenToUse
- After a cycle count, when the physical count differs from Shopify's on-hand quantity.
- When a 3PL posts a return batch late and the inventory needs to reflect the received stock.
- After the `multi-location-inventory-audit` skill identifies Available or Committed drift.
### howToRun
```
Run skill: shopify-admin-inventory-adjustment
Store: yourstore.myshopify.com
adjustments:
- sku: "PROD-001"
location_id: "gid://shopify/Location/12345"
delta: +10
- sku: "PROD-002"
location_id: "gid://shopify/Location/12345"
delta: -3
reason: cycle_count
dry_run: true
```
### whatYouGet
A CSV file `inventory-adjustments-YYYY-MM-DD.csv` with columns: `sku`, `product_title`, `location_name`, `quantity_before`, `delta`, `quantity_after`, `reason`. The `reason` field is permanently logged in Shopify's inventory activity history — use `cycle_count` for stock counts and supply a `reference_document_uri` to link the adjustment to your count sheet.
### polishContext
### safetyNote
This skill executes an `inventoryAdjustQuantities` mutation — quantity changes are immediate and permanent. A negative delta can push stock below zero if it exceeds available quantity. Run with `dry_run: true` to see before/after values for every SKU before committing.
